The Waiting Begins April 2006
Thanks in large part to the hard work of Buster Lackey and Carol Smith and with a lot of help from the rest of the Advisory Board and all coalition members, we completed and submitted our grant proposal to Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. "Transition" October 2005
The Arkansas Faith in Action State Coalition, Inc. (AFIASC, Inc.) is in a period of transition. We recently completed our application for our 501(c)(3) status and submitted the necessary papers for IRS approval. We are extremely grateful to Senator Blanche Lincoln and her staff in the Little Rock office for their assistance and guidance in completing this major milestone in our organizational efforts. Our coalition is very fortunate to have the Senator as an ally. She is a strong supporter of faith-based initiatives within the state of Arkansas and she has very high regards for the Faith in Action program that the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation began several years ago. Faith in Action! August 2005
The Arkansas Faith in Action State Coalition, Inc. (AFIASC) is up and running. To date we have had seven meetings at which we have accomplished a great deal. We have elected officers to our board as you can see on the left panel. We have submitted our Articles of Incorporation as required by law and have received our certificate from the state Attorney General. We have adopted By-Laws, a Code of Ethics, a Conflict of Interest Policy, and several other policies. We have set membership requirements and annual dues. We have begun work on several other key areas needed to make our coalition strong, responsible and effective.
Each original board member has given a great deal of their time and traveled many miles at their own expense to make these things happen. And it is all for a commonly shared idea.  Read News Item
